Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Inpatient Wound Care team in Chicago, IL. You will provide direct patient care, assess wounds, and implement evidence-based dressing changes in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires an active RN license, BLS upon hire, and experience in acute care; Wound Care certification and WOC/WCC board credentials are preferred and encouraged within the first year.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license issued by the state.
• BLS certification upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Wound care knowledge or experience preferred (1 year).
• Wound Care Certification within first year of hire.
• Wound, Ostomy, Continence (WOC) or WCC board certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care in the inpatient wound care department.
• Assess patient skin and monitor wound status.
• Implement dressing change recommendations per physician orders and clinical judgment.
• Apply offloading and HAPI prevention orders as needed.
• Share evidence-based wound care education with bedside staff.
• Establish monthly wound care committee meetings with facility staff.
• Collaborate with physicians and units to improve wound care practices.
• Report HAPI occurrences to leadership promptly and respond to changes in condition.
