Job summary

Northwest Community Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse with certified wound/ostomy expertise to join our inpatient and outpatient teams in Arlington Heights, IL. The role emphasizes high-quality nursing care, leadership in clinical decision-making, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary staff.

Requirements include a BSN, IL licensure, Wound Care Certification, and at least four years in medical/surgical nursing with CPR current.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved School of Nursing.
  • Licensure to practice Nursing in the state of Illinois.
  • Wound Care Certification.
  • Minimum of four years clinical experience in medical/surgical nursing; prefer experience in critical care nursing.
  • Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Will work in both inpatient and outpatient areas as needed.
  • Serves as an expert resource to staff for patients and families with complex physical and/or psychological problems and acts as a resource for high-tech procedures and equipment.
  • Demonstrates the expertise and ability to deliver quality nursing care within her specialty.
  • These may include activities such as central line consultation, wound care, Code Blue Team membership, IV consultation, or specialty area specific skills and procedures.
  • Collaborates in a multi-disciplinary approach to plan and deliver patient care and maintains peer relationships that demonstrate support, cost-effective quality patient care, and outcome centered interactions.
  • Involves family/guardian in plan of care and conducts patient and family education, as appropriate, considering the developmental level of the patient.
  • Serves as a role model for staff in clinical practice; demonstrates leadership in clinical decision-making.
  • Provides clinical support for the patient in crisis.
