Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital is seeking a Wound Care Registered Nurse to provide direct inpatient wound care in the Outpatient Wound Care department, participate in committee activities, and support evidence-based skin care practices in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will assess wounds, implement dressing changes, participate in HAPI prevention, and collaborate with physicians and the care team.

The role requires active RN licensure, BLS, and a preference for acute care and wound care

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the state.
• BLS upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Previous Wound care knowledge and/or experience preferred (1 Year).
• Wound Care Certification within first year of hire.
• Wound, Ostomy, Continence (WOC) or (WCC) Board Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse provides direct care in the inpatient wound care department.
• The Wound Care RN assesses the skin of patients in the facility, monitors the status of wounds, implements dressing changes per physician orders, and follows corporate policy.
• Establishes monthly wound care committee meetings and collaborates with all departments to implement best practice guidelines.
• Communicates changes in patient treatment and condition to physicians and the nursing team.
• Reports HAPI occurrences to leadership promptly and participates in team development calls.
