Job summary

Full Circle Co is seeking aWorkshop Operations Manager to oversee repair, assembly and service activities in our Louisiana workshop. You will coordinate subcontractors, manage inventory and scheduling in the ERP system, and ensure timely, cost-efficient project execution for customers.

The ideal candidate has hands-on gearbox/winch experience, strong mechanical knowledge, and a customer-oriented mindset. Travel up to 20% and leadership of workshop personnel are required.

Qualifications

  • Proven hands-on experience assembling, maintaining and repairing gearboxes and winches.
  • Strong mechanical systems knowledge, preferably in drive technology.
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to ~20%.
  • Excellent communication and customer-facing skills; able to represent the company on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage workshop operations for repair, assembly, and service activities.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, including scheduling and QA.
  • Procure and manage inventory of parts and materials.
  • Schedule customer orders and service projects in ERP.
  • Ensure quality through inspections and final checks.
  • Manage workshop resources and capacity planning.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, purchasing, and operations.
  • Monitor costs, schedules, and performance metrics.
  • Maintain records in ERP and provide leadership to staff.
  • Drive continuous improvement in productivity, safety, and processes.

Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Overall responsibility for the planning, coordination, and management of all workshop operations, ensuring efficient execution of repair, assembly, and service activities
  • Coordination and supervision of subcontractors, including scheduling, performance monitoring, and quality assurance
  • Procurement and inventory management of auxiliary materials and operating supplies materials, spare parts, consumables, and external services to support workshop activities and customer projects
  • Planning, scheduling, and monitoring of customer orders, repair jobs, and service projects within the ERP system
  • Ensuring compliance with quality standards through inspections, process controls, and final quality checks before delivery
  • Management of workshop resources, including personnel, equipment, tools, and capacity planning to meet customer and business requirements
  • Close collaboration with sales, engineering, purchasing, and operations teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution
  • Monitoring project costs, delivery schedules, and performance indicators to achieve operational and financial targets
  • Supporting customer communications regarding repair status, technical requirements, delivery schedules, and service expectations
  • Reviewing technical documentation, work instructions, and repair specifications to ensure accurate execution of all workshop activities
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, safety, and process optimization
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards throughout all workshop operations
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of workshop activities, procurement processes, quality inspections, and project performance within the ERP system
  • Providing leadership, training, and guidance to workshop personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proven hands-on experience in the assembly, maintenance, and repair of gearboxes and winches
  • Strong technical understanding and affinity for mechanical systems, ideally in drive technology
  • Structured and independent working style with a high level of responsibility and reliability
  • Experience in customer service or technical field service is highly desirable
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to travel, including international assignments (approx. 20%)
  • Team player with strong communication skills and a customer-oriented mindset
  • Ability to professionally interact with clients on-site and represent the company
  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with ERP systems (Sage) is a plus
  • Participation in ongoing technical training and willingness to continuously develop skills
