Key Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, rebuild, and refurbish industrial gearboxes according to engineering specifications and repair standards.
• Identify damaged gearbox components and determine required repairs and replacement parts.
• Collect measurements, findings, and technical information for inspection and repair reports.
• Perform field service work, including installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and emergency repairs at customer sites.
• Lead and supervise on-site repair activities when required.
• Utilize precision measuring tools to inspect gears, bearings, shafts, seals, and other gearbox components.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings, machining drawings, and technical documentation.
• Assist with shipping, receiving, painting of gear units, and general workshop activities.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a safe, organized work environment.
• Communicate professionally with customers, service teams, and internal stakeholders regarding repair findings and recommendations.

Skills and Requirements

1. 3-5+ years of mechanical maintenance, millwright, service technician, or gearbox repair experience.
2. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills involving gearboxes, bearings, seals, shafts, motors, pumps, or other rotating equipment.
3. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, exploded views, assembly prints, and technical documentation.
4. Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and bore gauges.
5. Ability and willingness to travel for field service assignments and work directly with customers at industrial facilities.
   • Industrial gearbox rebuild or power transmission experience.
   • Millwright background.
   • Bearing and seal installation experience.
   • Forklift and overhead crane certification.
   • Basic machining knowledge.
   • Welding and fabrication experience.
   • Knowledge of vibration analysis and root-cause failure analysis.
