Job summary

Progress Residential is seeking a Workforce Development Trainer to lead Progress Residential University’s Technical Skills Academy and other programs for service and construction staff. This role requires 50%-75% travel and will partner with technical schools nationwide to build talent pipelines and enhance workforce capabilities.

The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years in HVAC/construction, expertise in instructional design, and experience delivering training across formats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• Knowledge of adult learning theories and learning and development best practices.
• 10+ years’ experience in HVAC, construction, and/or maintenance.
• Experience designing and developing instructional materials in various media.
• Flexibility to deliver training in classroom, virtual, on-the-job, synchronous, and asynchronous formats.
• Ability to describe technical concepts clearly and accessibly.
• Experience using learning technologies and tools that support training activities.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with MS Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Create training content aligned with best practices.
• Support apprenticeship or entry-level technician programs.
• Develop relationships with technical schools to build talent pipelines.
• Provide interview, hiring and onboarding support for regional markets.
• Identify and implement nationally recognized skill-based curricula.
• Evaluate and modify training programs to improve learner performance.
• Test learning technologies to improve engagement and outcomes.
• Gather and analyze learning data to measure training impact.
