Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Northeast Iowa, Inc. in Waterloo, Iowa seeks a Workforce Development Manager to guide employee growth and store performance.

This role reports to the Director of Service Management and focuses on developing employees through supervision of Donated Goods/Retail teams and implementing career plans to drive long‑term success. You will supervise hourly staff, coach for growth, ensure training compliance, and track progress using Journey Maps while collaborating across

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field with equivalent experience.
Minimum of 3 years related full‑time paid experience in Human Services or Retail; management experience required.
Experience in goal writing, monitoring and assessing.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Strong coaching and performance development background.
Ability to handle confidential information and maintain professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

Direct supervision of hourly Donated Goods/Retail employees.
Delegate assignments and coach staff to attain growth and store goals.
Ensure compliance with training, policies, procedures, and ethical codes of conduct.
Develop individual development plans and provide job coaching and crisis management.
Conduct interviews, review resumes, and participate in hiring decisions.
Travel regularly to worksites and support agency-wide goals.
Model core values and promote a culture of trust and learning.
