Job summary

Jobot, a national defense litigation firm, seeks an experienced Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney in New Jersey to manage a full caseload and represent employers before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board.

This role offers hybrid flexibility, a salary range of $120,000-$190,000 per year, and a comprehensive benefits package with PTO, 401(k) and health, dental, and vision coverage.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Active State Bar membership in good standing.
• 8+ years in workers' compensation defense.
• Proven deposition and trial experience.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and tasks.
• Proficient in legal research software and MS Office.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of workers' compensation cases of varying degrees of complexity.
• Prepare legal documents and reports with a high level of accuracy.
• Conduct depositions of claimants, medical personnel, and other relevant parties.
• Represent employers and carriers before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board.
• Conduct and direct legal research to stay updated on current workers' compensation laws and regulations.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in conjunction with claims adjusters.

1. Manage a full caseload of workers' compensation cases of varying degrees of complexity.
