Job summary

Jobot partners with a national defense litigation firm in New Jersey to hire a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney. Hybrid flexibility and a clear billable-hour goal are offered.

You will defend workers' compensation claims, conduct legal research and writing, draft pleadings, and represent clients at depositions, hearings, and trials. NJ bar admission and a JD are required, with at least 1 year of experience, and a demonstrated ability to handle complex workers' compensation matters.

Qualifications

• JD required from accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice in NJ in good standing.
• Minimum 1 year of workers' compensation defense experience.
• Experience in legal research, writing, depositions, and trial.
• Strong knowledge of workers' compensation laws and regulations.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

1. 1. Defend workers' compensation claims for benefits including medical, disability, death, and rehabilitation claims.
2. 2. Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to make informed decisions and provide sound legal advice.
3. 3. Draft, review, and revise various legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, reports, and correspondence.
4. 4. Represent clients in pre-trial and trial matters, depositions, mediations, and hearings.

Qualifications

1. 1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. 2. Admitted to practice law in the state and in good standing with the state bar association.
3. 3. A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney, preferably in the tech services industry.
4. 4. Proven experience in legal research, legal writing, depositions, and trial.
5. 5. Strong knowledge of workers' compensation laws and regulations.
6. 6. Excellent negotiation, communication, and advocacy skills.
