Job summary

Holmes Murphy in Rhode Island is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist within Creative Risk Solutions to deliver client-focused claims service. You will investigate and resolve lost time WC claims, coordinate with insureds, claimants and insurers, and ensure accurate data entry and timely payments.

A state WC license or ability to obtain it within three months is required, with 3–5 years of WC claims experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college degree preferred; professional designations encouraged (AIC, CPCU).
• 3–5 years of workers’ compensation claims experience.
• Active state workers' compensation license or ability to acquire within three months of hire.
• Strong knowledge of WC coverage, claims processing, and adjudication across jurisdictions.
• Ability to learn and adapt to various software programs.

Responsibilities

• Receives, transmits workers’ compensation information promptly from insureds, claimants, and staff.
• Investigates, evaluates, and resolves lost time WC claims, including litigated ones.
• Mediates between insured and insurer, researching coverage issues.
• Enters and maintains accurate information on the claim system, including settlements.
• Generates indemnity and medical payment checks daily.
• Develops and monitors consistency in claims handling procedures within CRS.
• Willingness to become licensed if required in jurisdiction where claims are handled.
