Job summary

WCF Insurance is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Claims Assistant to provide administrative and technical support for the claims team. The role involves claim setup, documentation, correspondence, and processing activities, working closely with adjusters, claimants, medical providers, policyholders, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate records and responsive service.

This in-person, non-exempt position is based in the Sandy (UT) office, with regular hours Monday–Friday 8am–5pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; associate degree preferred.
• Experience in claims or insurance preferred.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Efficient organization and time management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in using computer systems and software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, claims management software).
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to claims adjuster.
• Communicate effectively with claimants, adjusters, and other stakeholders.
• Interact with policyholders, medical providers, and other stakeholders to gather information, provide updates, and answer inquiries.
• Assist in the processing and resolution of claims, including verifying facts and coverage, entering new losses into the claims system, and managing incoming and outgoing claims correspondence.
• Manage work queues and process documents based on best practice guidelines.
• Compile and organize medical records for independent medical evaluations and other purposes as requested.
• Answer phone calls and effectively relay messages to claims staff.
