Job summary

Liberty Mutual is seeking a Workers Compensation Associate Claims Adjuster for the West Region. You will investigate, determine liability, evaluate losses, negotiate settlements, and manage a portfolio of commercial claims through training and mentoring programs with on-the-job development.

Candidates must reside within 50 miles of listed locations; California residents may work 100% remote. Training begins in Plano, TX, with in-office attendance required for one week in November 2026.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal, analytical and negotiation abilities required.
• Ability to provide information in a clear, concise manner with appropriate detail.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
• Professional environment success; customer service/retail experience preferred.
• Analytical skills from a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Knowledge of legal liability and medical terminology helpful but not mandatory.
• Licensing may be required in some states.

Responsibilities

• Investigates new claims by reviewing first reports of loss and supporting materials, determines the best contact to gather information and posts file.
• Establishes action plans based on case facts, protocols, jurisdictional issues and resources.
• Manages an inventory of property/casualty and disability claims, evaluates compensability/liability and negotiates settlements within limits.
• Establishes accurate loss cost estimates using available resources and market protocols.
• Confirms or denies coverage based on investigation, advises policyholders on proper action.
• Uses loss management techniques and other resources to resolve claims.
• Updates files and provides comprehensive reports as required.
