Des Moines Area Community College is seeking a Work Study for the Student Accounts team. This part-time role supports processing payments, handling inquiries, and assisting at the front desk to help students manage their accounts with confidentiality and reliability.
The position offers a flexible schedule of 20 hours per week, typically 7:30am–4:30pm, with work that provides exposure to bookkeeping and accounting tasks within the Student Accounts office.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

The work study program provides funds for part-time employment to help students finance the costs of postsecondary education. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student’s course of study. The program is designed to provide students with an opportunity for employment arranged around class schedules, while providing essential services to the College and the community.
Process and apply payments to student accounts. Review returned checks and direct funds/refunds as necessary. Review mail and other received items and distribute to the appropriate Student Accounts personnel. Work with Student Accounts specialists to generate and review department reports. Work at the front desk and assist with student questions and requests. Direct students to the correct specialist as needed. Student will gain exposure to processes in bookkeeping, accounting, regulation, and other applicable specialties. Other duties as assigned.
Must be proficient with computers and Microsoft Office applications. Must be able to keep information confidential. Must be an effective communicator with the ability to work with others. Must be dependable and able to work an established schedule.
20 hours per week between the hours of 7:30am – 4:30pm Monday – Friday.
