Des Moines Area Community College is seeking a work-study student to support lab operations and inventory on campus. The role offers up to 12 hours per week with a flexible schedule between 8:00am and 3:00pm, Monday through Friday, designed to fit around class schedules.
The position involves setting up and resetting labs, organizing supplies, stocking rooms, and assisting with inventory. Strong organization and communication are essential.

The work study program provides funds for part-time employment to help students finance the costs of postsecondary education. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student’s course of study. The program is designed to provide students with an opportunity for employment arranged around class schedules, while providing essential services to the College and the community.
Responsible for setup and reset of labs.
Sort and organize lab supplies.
Stock operating rooms.
Assist with lab supply inventory.
Surgical technology labs utilize a variety of sterile and non-sterile supplies on a daily basis.
Lab stations vary related to assessments with a differentiation in supplies that are rotated on a weekly basis.
Excellent organizational, transcriptive, and communication skills.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Ability to take direction and fulfill tasks in a timely manner.
12 hours per week. Flexible, between the hours of 8:00am – 3:00pm, Monday – Friday.
