Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a part-time contract worker to support Worcester City Council's WordPress websites. The role focuses on content management, accessibility, security, and digital communications across council sites and intranet.

The post holder will train content authors, maintain WordPress functionality, and ensure best practices across digital platforms, with hybrid working after an initial office period.

Qualifications

• Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent experience.
• Minimum two years' experience in a similar web/digital support role.
• Experience creating, publishing and managing website content.
• Experience managing WordPress websites and themes/plugins.
• Understanding of accessibility, SEO, security and data protection.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Experience delivering training and user support.
• Experience working in Local Government is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage and update content across the Council's websites.
• Create, edit and publish website content for multiple sites.
• Ensure information is accurate, relevant and up to date.
• Develop customer-focused self-service content and online information.
• Support social media and intranet content and accessibility compliance.
• Maintain WordPress themes, templates and plugins and monitor performance.
• Provide technical and user support and training as required.
