Job summary

Job Store Staffing is seeking a Web Communications Specialist to oversee a statewide social media program, manage WordPress-based websites, and develop a daily content strategy that engages stakeholders across Colorado. You will repurpose content, create videos, optimize for mobile and search, and ensure accessibility compliance with WCAG 2.0.

The role requires at least two years of web design and social media experience, with expertise in Dreamweaver and WordPress.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or combination of experience and education (i.e. certifications)
• Two years of professional website design and social media experience
• Social media experience includes effectively and frequently using social media to enhance the public’s regard and/or customer-patronage of an organization or cause
• Experience with Dreamweaver and WordPress (or other Content Management Systems)
• Experience with and knowledge in web accessibility, specifically WCAG 2.0 guidelines
• MySQL, phpMyAdmin, Excel, HTML5, ASP, VB Classic, PHP, JQuery, XML
• Experience with Photoshop and Illustrator
• Experience as a Web Developer

Responsibilities

• Oversee an active social media program across Colorado to engage stakeholders and show value of our colleges
• Manage the system office’s administrative, prospective student and WordPress-based websites
• Develop and deploy a daily social media content strategy including engagement and cultivation
• Prepare digital photography, PDFs, video and other files for the web and social media
• Ensure mobile-friendly experiences and effective Search Engine Optimization
• Lead accessibility projects and SOAP meetings to meet deadlines and test updates
• Support WordPress Admins and troubleshoot accessibility issues
• Publish content across Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and other channels
• Analyze analytics and adjust content strategy; report on public perception
