Job summary

Alpine, an ITW company, is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to design and analyze engineered wood components, including trusses, and ensure code compliance in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment. You will apply engineering judgment to develop safe, efficient solutions and collaborate with senior engineers to resolve complex design challenges.

This role requires a PE license or EIT with PE intent, a civil or mechanical engineering degree, and the ability to travel to office

Qualifications

• PE license in any US state or EIT with intent to obtain PE
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related engineering with coursework in statics and structural analysis
• Ability to interpret construction documents into structural design solutions
• Ability to travel to office locations as needed

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design and analysis of engineered wood components, including calculating loads, member forces, and connection requirements
• Apply engineering judgment to develop safe, efficient solutions for standard and moderately complex design scenarios
• Review and refine work by designers and technicians to ensure accuracy and code compliance
• Collaborate with senior engineers to resolve complex design challenges and contribute to final design approvals
• Provide technical guidance to internal teams and customers regarding structural behavior and design assumptions
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards, processes, and documentation while ensuring timely delivery
