Job summary

Alpine, an ITW Company, is a leading provider of building component software and services. The Senior Engineer will design and analyze wood trusses and framing systems, ensuring safe, economical, code-compliant solutions for customers and projects.

The role requires strong structural engineering expertise, PE licensure or a plan to obtain it with company support, and the ability to lead design reviews and mentor teammates while collaborating with software developers on Alpine's tools.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer license required or ability to obtain with company support.
• Experience with wood truss design, framing layouts, and cost‑effective design.
• Knowledge of building codes and design standards, including statics and strength of materials.
• Ability to read roof and framing layouts and develop practical configurations.
• Strong communication, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze wood trusses, framing systems, repairs, and components using engineering principles and Alpine's software.
• Evaluate layouts, calculate loads, support plan takeoffs, troubleshoot structural concerns, and identify safe, cost‑effective solutions.
• Review designs for technical accuracy, code compliance, and design standards.
• Provide technical leadership to the engineering team and mentor junior engineers.
• Support field/site inspections and investigations to evaluate performance or repair needs.
• Collaborate with the software development team to enhance Alpine's design tools.
