Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a Motorola Solutions subsidiary, seeks a Wireless Communication Systems Engineer in West Los Angeles on a hybrid schedule (3 onsite days/week). The role involves planning, design, implementation, prototyping, verification, and validation of wireless technologies.

The successful candidate will contribute to system design, algorithm development, and cross-functional collaboration with FPGA and software teams to advance defense and public safety communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Science, or related field required (3+ years) or Master's degree.
• Experience with wireless communication protocols and modem architecture (PHY/MAC/higher layers).
• Working knowledge of RF propagation, channel modeling, and wireless channel characteristics.
• Strong digital communication and signal processing knowledge (MIMO, OFDM, synchronization, channel estimation).
• Understanding RF impairments and compensation techniques (AGC, phase noise, IQ imbalance).
• Proficiency in MATLAB for algorithm development and analysis.

Responsibilities

• System design and requirement specification.
• Algorithmic development, simulation, and characterization.
• System performance simulation, benchmarking, and testing.
• Support FPGA and Software teams through fixed point design and testing.
• Lead a multi-disciplinary engineer team for product development as needed.
• Set and track development schedules and tasks.
• Plan and participate in lab and field testing and troubleshooting.
• Prepare technical materials and documentation.
• Participate in R&D business development and capture efforts.
• Understand current products and plan future enhancements.
