Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a Motorola Solutions subsidiary, is seeking an R&D Test Engineer in West Los Angeles, CA. The role focuses on building testing infrastructure and validating MANET radios and wireless products in a hands-on, onsite environment.

The ideal candidate has a solid background in embedded firmware, scripting, C/C++, Python, and wireless networks, and is ready to work with lab instruments and testing software. US citizenship is required due to government contracts.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or another relevant field.
3+ years of relevant industry experience in embedded firmware development and testing, scripting, embedded Linux, C/C++, and Python; or 1 year with advanced degree.
Experience in wireless networking or electronics manufacturing environments.
Experience with lab instruments such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and logic analyzers.
U.S. Citizenship is required for roles involving U.S. government contracts.
Background check and drug test clearance are required.

Responsibilities

Wireless system test operation, implementation, and maintenance.
Develop and maintain testing software for automated testing and logging.
Collaborate with R&D and Engineering to understand performance requirements and validate designs.
Conduct lab testing with wireless channel emulators and other instruments.
Conduct field testing to qualify system performance in practical environments.
Travel domestically as needed for demonstrations.
