Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, seeks an R&D Test Engineer to join the Communications Systems group in West Los Angeles, CA. You will develop testing infrastructure and perform comprehensive testing, vetting, and demonstration of Silvus’ MANET radios and wireless products.

This onsite role reports to the R&D Director and involves lab and field testing, troubleshooting, and collaboration with the engineering team to meet performance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in embedded firmware development and testing, scripting, embedded Linux, C/C++, and Python.
• Experience in wireless networking or electronics manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Wireless system test operation, implementation and maintenance.
• Develop and maintain testing software for automated testing and logging.
• Collaborate with R&D and Engineering to validate performance and troubleshoot designs.
• Conduct lab testing with wireless channel emulators and instruments.
• Perform field testing to qualify system performance in real environments.
• Travel occasionally for demonstrations and experiments.
