Job summary

Silvus Technologies in West Los Angeles, CA, seeks a Wireless Communications Systems Engineer to join the R&D team. You will participate in all phases of wireless projects from planning to validation.

Based on a hybrid schedule, this role requires at least three onsite days per week and collaboration with FPGA and software groups. You will lead multidisciplinary engineers for product and feature development as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related engineering field with wireless design experience.
• Experience with wireless protocols and modem architecture (PHY, MAC, higher layers).
• Knowledge of RF propagation, channel modeling, and wireless channel characteristics.
• Strong understanding of digital communications and signal processing (MIMO, OFDM, synchronization, channel estimation, equalization).
• Awareness of RF impairments and compensation techniques (AGC, phase noise, frequency/clock offset, IQ imbalance).
• Proficiency in MATLAB for algorithm development, modeling, simulation, and analysis.
• U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contracts; background check clearance.

Responsibilities

• System design and requirement specification for wireless projects.
• Algorithmic development, simulation, and characterization.
• System performance simulation, benchmarking, and testing.
• Support FPGA and Software teams with fixed point design, implementation and test.
• Lead a team of multi-disciplinary engineers for product development as needed.
• Plan and participate in laboratory and field testing and troubleshooting.
• Prepare technical material and documentation; participate in R&D business capture efforts.
