Job summary

Amazon’s Corporate Network Engineering team seeks a Network Development Engineer to design, implement, and sustain world-class network infrastructure across our corporate offices. You will partner with software, hardware, and security specialists to deliver scalable, cost-efficient networking solutions that meet high safety and reliability standards.

The role offers exposure to large-scale data center and WAN environments, plus opportunities to influence tooling, automation, and design standards

Qualifications

4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience.
4+ years in a Linux/Unix environment.
4+ years hands-on technical engineering in large scale data center and/or WAN networks.
1+ years automation via Bash/shell scripting and Python/Perl programming.
1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl.

Responsibilities

Design and build innovative, multi-vendor data connectivity solutions to support Amazon’s growth worldwide.
Drive scaling current network designs to meet the demand of our customers.
Work with vendors and cross-functional teams for on-going design efforts and systems support.
Work closely with our internal customers to help alleviate their problems and ensure our network continues to meet their demands.
Drive operational excellence projects to drive improvements in our network quality and reliability.
Work closely with our teams to assist in defining the tools we require.
Create simple processes that help operate and build our network.
