Job summary

BearCom, a leading wireless solutions provider, seeks a Field Service Technician II to install and support wireless systems across the Corpus Christi area. The role emphasizes customer service, hands-on RF equipment work, and the ability to troubleshoot complex deployments.

The ideal candidate will handle codeplugs, install diverse hardware (UHF/VHF, DAS, CCTV), and may travel regionally. A strong electronics background and valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of service technician experience diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing Motorola, Kenwood, ICOM, Vertex equipment in the 2-way radio wireless and/or communication field.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of 2-way radio theory, RF propagation characteristics at various frequency bands and communications systems.
• Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent.
• Knowledge of battery backup systems, base stations, repeaters, multicouplers, and duplexers, TCP/IP principles and NIC programming.
• Proficiency in operating test equipment including spectrum analyzers, watt meters, TDRs, FDRs, and multimeters.

Responsibilities

• Create Mid-Level Programming Codeplugs (12+ Channels, Trunking, Multiple Zones)
• Install and Service Wireless Communications Equipment (UHF/VHF and 800/900 MHz Systems, Dispatch Consoles, BDA/DAS Systems, Microwave Systems, Wireless Broadband Devices, CCTV Equipment)
• Recommend Appropriate Equipment and Hardware That Meets Customer Requirements
• Some Regional and/or Overnight Travel and On-Call Hours May Be Required
