Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Wire Transfer Specialist for a contract opportunity supporting wire operations within the banking and consumer lending industry. This role is ideal for a banking operations professional with hands-on wire processing experience who understands the importance of accuracy, risk awareness, regulatory compliance, and timely transaction processing. The Wire Transfer Specialist will process, verify, authenticate, and monitor domestic and international wire transfers while helping maintain operational integrity and excellent customer service. This opportunity offers a structured operations environment, clear procedures, required training, and the chance to work with a supportive team focused on accuracy, compliance, and first-in, first-out service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and verify incoming and outgoing domestic and international USD and foreign currency wire transfers within required daily deadlines.


• Authenticate wire requests by validating the initiator and confirming wire transfer details with authorized account representatives.


• Repair incoming USD payments and review transactions for accuracy, completeness, overdraft risk, and status code issues.


• Monitor risk queues and escalated suspicious or unusual wire activity to supervisors for review.


• Maintain compliance with bank policies, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements, including BSA, Know Your Client, Fair Lending, and Code of Conduct standards.


• Meet minimum production standards while supporting department needs, training requirements, and other assigned duties.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay range: $32 to $35 per hour.


• Job type: Contract/temporary.


• Work arrangement: Remote, with candidates required to be local to Los Angeles, CA for onsite training.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Process outgoing domestic and international wire transfers accurately and within same-day Federal Reserve deadlines.


• Verify, authenticate, repair, and monitor wire transfer activity across incoming and outgoing payment workflows.


• Review wire risk queues, identify potential issues, and escalated suspicious transactions appropriately.


• Support operational integrity by following banking procedures, compliance requirements, and customer service standards.


• High school diploma required.


• Minimum of 6 months of wire processing experience required.


• 1 to 2 years of administrative, banking operations, payment operations, or wire transfer experience preferred for success in the role.


• Understanding of wire processing functions, banking systems, and operational procedures.


• Knowledge of risk conditions related to wire transfers, overdrafts, payment status codes, and transaction review.


• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet production and processing deadlines.


• Verbal communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with internal teams, supervisors, and Relationship Managers.


• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to identify, research, and escalated issues in a timely manner.


• Ability to complete required training and comply with banking regulations, operational policies, and credit procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with domestic and international USD and foreign currency wire transfers.


• Prior banking operations experience in a high-volume payment processing environment.


• Experience performing payment investigations or acting as a department utility resource.


• Familiarity with Bank Secrecy Act, Know Your Client, Fair Lending, Community Reinvestment Act, and related banking compliance standards.
