Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own the architecture and delivery of native Windows desktop applications. You will work across C#, XAML, and, when needed, C++ to build high-quality, accessible software for a global user base.

You will lead design decisions, mentor peers, and collaborate with product and QA to ensure performance, reliability, and a delightful user experience on the Windows platform.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Windows desktop application development using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML; native C++ experience a plus.
• Deep understanding of Windows architecture and interop between managed and native code.
• Proven track record shipping production desktop apps with reliability and performance.
• Strong experience with accessibility APIs on Windows and inclusive software.
• Solid fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures, memory management, multi-threading.
• Experience leading design, mentoring engineers, code reviews, and architecture decisions.
• Excellent communication and a user-centric mindset for polished UX.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and development of native Windows desktop applications using Windows App SDK, WinUI, C#, XAML, and — when needed — C++.
• Define and enforce best-practices for Windows desktop development across the codebase: architecture, performance, memory usage, responsive UI, cross-version compatibility.
• Drive accessibility efforts: integrate and validate accessibility APIs, ensure focus management and screen-reader support.
• Collaborate with product designers, UX researchers, QA, and stakeholders to shape feature planning and long-term roadmap.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex bugs and performance bottlenecks; propose robust architectural solutions.
