Job summary

Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is seeking a Winter Seasonal Highway Technician 1 for District 01, covering Allen, Auglaize, Hancock, Hardin, Mercer, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert, and Wyandot counties. This temporary, unclassified appointment supports snow and ice removal and general roadway maintenance with a CDL required.

Work hours are 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, full-time during winter season, with hours reporting to multiple locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic and basic numeracy; ability to read, write and speak English.
• Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License without air brake restriction (CDL) at appropriate level.

Responsibilities

• Operate snow removal and routine roadway maintenance equipment.
• Assist with emergency response, clean-up, traffic control and public assistance.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections and minor repairs on equipment.
