State of Indiana (INDOT) is seeking Seasonal Winter Maintenance Workers in the LaPorte area. The role covers snow and ice removal, traffic control, and related highway maintenance duties. A CDL is required, and successful applicants will participate in an open interview event.

This full-time seasonal position pays $21.00 per hour, with a retention bonus and start date options. Candidates must meet CDL and safety requirements and be able to work outside in varied winter conditions.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or HSE preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• CDL class A or B required.
• Drug test required for employment.
• Ability to move 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform physical activities (lifting, standing, walking).
• Ability to endure inclement weather.
• Operate and maintain traffic equipment.
• Follow directions and work as part of a team.
• Work unpredictable/non-traditional hours during winter operations.
• Able to perform essential functions with/without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Operate highway maintenance and traffic equipment to maintain, repair, and clean highways and right-of-way.
• Move and load supplies and materials.
• Winter operation duties including snow and ice removal.
• Emergency response: traffic control, lane closures, signs, barricades.
• Equipment maintenance: minor repairs, fueling, inspections.
• Follow INDOT Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Document work in the Work Management System (WMS).
