Job summary

The State of Indiana, via INDOT, seeks a Winter Seasonal Maintenance Worker to perform snow removal and highway maintenance across Indiana. A CDL is required and the role includes operating snow plows and traffic equipment, with safety as a priority.

Starting dates include November 9, 2026, or later; a sign-on bonus of $250 is offered if you start by 11/23/26, plus a $500 retention bonus for staying through 3/27/27.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or HSE preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Valid Class A or B CDL required.
• Drug test must be passed.
• Must be able to move 50 pounds.
• Must perform in inclement weather.
• Must be able to work long, irregular winter hours.
• Operate winter maintenance equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate highway maintenance and traffic equipment to maintain roads and rights of way.
• Move and load supplies and materials.
• Winter operations including snow and ice removal.
• Emergency response tasks: traffic control, lane closures, sign placement, barricades.
• Perform equipment maintenance: minor repairs, refueling, inspections.
• Follow INDOT safety policies and complete job documentation in WMS.
