Job summary

Total Wine & More is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to grow the brand by delivering best-in-class service and leading a knowledgeable team in a dynamic retail setting. You will report to the Store Manager and support store operations, staff development, and profitability.

The role requires 1–3 years in retail with 2+ years in a supervisory capacity, a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, and proficiency with POS and inventory systems. Availability for evenings and weekends is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of work experience, 2+ years in a managerial or supervisory role in retail.
• Experience leading, motivating, and developing a sales-focused team.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and deliver against key performance metrics (KPMs).
• Assist in recruiting, training, and leading store team, including ongoing development to enhance product knowledge and sales skills.
• Support day-to-day operations, including payroll, inventory, merchandising and shrink.
• Deliver outstanding customer service by leading by example and resolving customer issues.
• Help maintain vendor relationships to support store and inventory objectives.
• Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and maintain a safe and compliant store environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field

1-3 years retail experience
