Job summary

River Oaks Country Club, Inc. seeks a Wine & Beverage Manager to lead the Club's wine program, manage inventories, and train staff. You will work closely with members, culinary leadership, and service teams to elevate dining experiences through expert recommendations and education.

You are a working sommelier responsible for beverage strategy, events, and private function support, with a strong emphasis on hospitality excellence and program growth.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of progressive beverage leadership experience in private clubs, luxury hotels, or comparable hospitality settings.
• Strong wine knowledge and passion for hospitality, member service, and beverage education.
• Current TABC and Texas Food Handler certifications or ability to obtain on hire.
• Experience managing inventory controls, purchasing processes, and beverage costing.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional wine and beverage service across dining venues and events.
• Serve as a knowledgeable resource on wine, spirits, beer, and non-alcoholic offerings.
• Develop beverage pairings and recommendations to enhance dining experiences.
• Assist with wine purchasing, pricing, and merchandising.
• Maintain inventories and monitor par levels; support budgeting and analysis.
• Collaborate with vendors and staff to ensure quality offerings and service standards.
• Plan and execute wine dinners, tastings, and member-focused events.
