Job summary

The Post Oak in Houston is seeking an accomplished Sommelier to lead a world-class wine program within a luxury private club and restaurant, and to elevate the guest experience from the first pour to the final toast.

You will curate exclusive selections, manage inventory and cost controls, design pairings with culinary leadership, plan wine dinners and member tastings, and mentor service teams to deliver impeccable, personalized service.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of Sommelier experience in luxury settings.
  • Court of Master Sommeliers Certified Sommelier designation or equivalent preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with high-net-worth members and VIP clientele.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and member events.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously enhance a world-class wine program, including wine list development, reserve selections, and exclusive member offerings.
  • Deliver exceptional, personalized wine service through expert recommendations and tastings.
  • Manage all aspects of wine inventory, purchasing, receiving, storage, and vendor partnerships.
  • Collaborate with Culinary and Restaurant Leadership to create innovative food and wine pairings and elevated dining experiences.
  • Lead wine education and training initiatives for service teams.
  • Plan and execute wine dinners, tastings, and exclusive member events.
