Job summary

Bent Tree Country Club in Dallas, TX is seeking a Part-Time Sommelier to elevate our wine program and enhance the dining experience for members.

You will curate selections, provide expert recommendations, train staff, organize tastings and events, and maintain inventory with proper storage. A Court of Master Sommeliers certification or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• Extensive wine knowledge with familiarity of regions and varieties.
• Excellent communication and guest education skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends/evenings.
• TABC certification required or in process.
• Experience with club POS systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Curate and assist with development of the club’s wine program, including selection, inventory, and presentation.

Reports to: AGM | Part-time

Join Bent Tree Country Club as a Part-Time Sommelier and bring your passion for wine and exceptional service to our esteemed members. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your wine expertise while enhancing the overall dining experience. Key Responsibilities:

• Curate and assist with the development of the club’s wine program, including selection, inventory, and presentation
• Provide expert wine recommendations to members and guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience
• Conduct staff training on wine knowledge, service standards, and proper handling techniques
• Assist in organizing wine tastings, events, and educational programs
• Maintain accurate records of wine inventory and ensure proper storage conditions
• Collaborate with culinary and service teams to coordinate wine pairings and special events

Skills and Qualifications:

• Extensive wine knowledge and familiarity with wine regions, varietals, and tasting techniques
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and engage staff and members
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work flexible hours, including split shifts, weekends, and evenings
• Must have TABC
• Knowledge of POS systems such as (ClubEssentials, Seven Rooms, and Jonas)

Physical Requirement

• Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical activities for extended periods.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and various environments.

Experience

• 2- 5 years of proven experience as a sommelier, preferably in a country club or luxury hospitality setting

Education:

• High School Diploma
• Court of Master Sommeliers or equivalent certification
• Equivalent combination of education and exceptional experience will be considered
