Job summary

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy in Deer Grove, Illinois is seeking a field technician to service and maintain wind turbines at Green River Wind Farm. You will work in challenging environments, climbing towers and performing preventive and corrective maintenance.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2+ years in mechanical/electrical/hydraulic fields, ability to pass physicals, and travel up to 15%. Passport and driver's license needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years’ experience in a mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic field preferred.
• Able to pass a physical to ensure ability to perform job functions.
• Willing to travel up to 15% to sites/trainings.
• Experience with electrical systems including PLC programming and converters.
• Passport and driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain wind turbines at the Green River Wind Farm.
• Operate in demanding, hazardous environments with safety as a priority.
• Collaborate with technicians to complete repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Adapt to changing conditions and respond quickly to issues.
• Support wind farm operations and meet production targets.
• Engage with customers and internal teams to coordinate work.
