Job summary

Siemens Gamesa is seeking a wind turbine technician to service and maintain turbines at Green River Wind Farm in Deer Grove, IL. The role requires working in elevated, hazardous environments and collaborating with other technicians to ensure safety and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in a mechanical/electric/hydraulic field, with PLC experience and a willingness to travel up to 15%. High school diploma or higher education in related fields is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years in a mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic field preferred.
• Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less.
• Willing to travel up to 15% to sites within the district.
• Experience with electrical systems including PLC programming and converters.
• Eligible to work in the United States without current sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain Siemens Gamesa wind turbines at Green River Wind Farm.
• Work in demanding and hazardous conditions with the team.
• Deliver prompt and efficient repairs to wind turbines.
• Collaborate with fellow technicians to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Enhance wind farm operations through daily task improvements.
• Travel to sites as needed (up to 15%).
