Job summary

Sky Climber Renewables is seeking an entry-level TOP Wind Service Technician to support on-site turbine maintenance and safety training.

You will complete accredited GWO training, perform preventive and unscheduled maintenance, climb turbines up to 300+ ft, and work with a service team near your home while adhering to safety procedures.

Training is provided, with growth opportunities in mechanical and electrical disciplines, and a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork across sites in Illinois.

Qualifications

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship)
• Must live within 1-hour commuting distance to job site
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Ability to read, write, and understand English
• Successful completion of a climb preview prior to hire
• Preferred: technical degree or wind energy background
• Reading and interpreting basic diagrams/wiring schematics

Responsibilities

• Follow all Environmental, Health and Safety procedures
• Perform basic mechanical installations, maintenance, operations, and upgrades
• Verify work complies with customer requirements
• Document all work performed
• Report policy or procedure violations
• Submit progress reports
• Repair or replace parts
• Use activity tools safely
• Occasionally work independently on components
• Dismantle and assemble machinery or tooling
• Travel up to 25% as required
• Work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed
• Work at heights and in all weather conditions
• Maintain a valid driver's license and clean record
