Job summary

Invenergy LLC, the Gunsight Mountain Wind Energy Center in Big Spring, TX, seeks a Wind Technician to operate and maintain the facility's GE wind turbines. You will perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance, climb turbine towers, and troubleshoot faults to keep the plant running safely and efficiently.

This safety‑sensitive role requires a high school diploma and at least one year of technical experience or education, the ability to work outdoors in all weather, and a valid driver's

Qualifications

• One year technical experience or technical education.
• Able to work outdoors in inclement weather.
• Able to climb ladders and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet).
• Able to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).
• Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.) excluding gear.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment.
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components.
• Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environment.
• Work a 40 hour work week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
