Job summary

Invenergy LLC is seeking a Wind Technician for the Gunsight Mountain Wind Energy Center in Big Spring, TX. You will operate and maintain GE wind turbines, climb towers daily, and perform mechanical and electrical maintenance to ensure optimal performance.

The role requires a high school diploma, 1 year of technical experience, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. A valid driver's license and US work eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 1 year of technical experience or education in mechanical/electrical fields.
• Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather and climb heights over 80 meters (250 ft).
• Ability to move and lift up to 45 kg (100 lb).
• Weight must not exceed 265 lbs (120 kg) excluding gear.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and related equipment.
• Climb wind turbine towers daily, with safety gear, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
• Understand electrical and mechanical functions of wind turbine components.
• Troubleshoot faults and replace components as needed.
• Maintain tools, facilities and a safe work environment.
• Work a 40 hour week with possible overtime during peak maintenance periods.
