Job summary

EDP Renewables North America is seeking a Wind Technician II to join our Dwight, IL wind farm team. You will perform on-site operations, maintenance, and repairs of wind turbines and related equipment, ensuring safe, compliant operations and timely reporting.

The role requires hands-on maintenance experience, proficiency with MS Office and diagnostics tools, and a commitment to safety. Travel may be up to 10% as part of outage coordination and remote-center support.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle.
• 1+ years of college or technical school education, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in wind energy or a related industry.
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office software, SQL server software, facility management and reporting systems, and computerized diagnostics and troubleshooting tools
• Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment and safety requirements
• Working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements
• Understanding of Microsoft products and related tools
• Analytical problem solving, strong communication, customer/partner relationships, and technology expertise

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of wind turbines and associated wind plant equipment, including substation and tower switchgear
• Proactively look for improvement opportunities to job appropriate processes and procedures
• Communicate through appropriate channels or implement improvements using control management protocol
• Seek assistance when turbine issues exceed trained skill level to ensure resolution
• Comply with environmental health and safety programs and act as a safety role model
• Document all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures
• Adhere to internal controls and complete required training
• Coordinate with EDPR's Remote Operations Control Center for remote operations when necessary
• Perform QA/QC inspections and periodic equipment reporting
