Job summary

Pattern Energy is seeking a hands-on technician to oversee onsite operations, maintenance, and repairs of wind generation facilities. You will work under the Facility Manager to keep turbines, substations, and balance-of-plant systems running smoothly.

quals include climbing tall towers, diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues, and adhering to safety protocols. The role may involve travel to other wind sites in the U.S. or Canada and requires overtime and on-call availability.

Qualifications

• One year college or technical school certificate; or 12 months of related experience or wind industry training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to climb 80+ meter steel towers on a daily basis to perform maintenance in the nacelle and hub.
• Ability to lift items weighing 1 to 60 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Advanced computer skills with word processing, spreadsheets, email, and facility control systems.
• Willing to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and on-call; travel to other wind sites may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbines and associated plant equipment including substation and transmission lines.
• Read schematics to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems.
• Repair or replace mechanical and electrical components following manufacturer requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance per OEM and Pattern Energy practices.
• Maintain tools and organize work area; operate service vehicle.
• Collect data and prepare reports for wind plant reporting requirements.
