Job summary

EDP Renewables North America is seeking an entry-level Wind Technician I to join a wind-energy site at Lost Lakes Wind Farm, IA. You will perform on-site operations, maintenance, inspections, and safety compliance for wind turbine systems and related equipment.

The role emphasizes hands-on training, documentation, and teamwork within a safety-focused environment. A high school diploma is required, with technical schooling preferred; travel up to 10% may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school preferred.
• Strong mechanical background with gear-related focus.
• 1–2 years wind energy or related industry experience preferred.
• Understanding of Microsoft products and related software.
• Experience with power plant and wind turbine operations and maintenance.
• Familiarity with testing equipment and heavy equipment for maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of wind turbines and related equipment.
• Identify safety risks and implement mitigation.
• Document work using service reporting procedures.
• Participate in on-the-job training and teamwork.
• Coordinate with Remote Operations Center as needed.
