Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Wind Farm Technician II to support safe, reliable operation and maintenance of wind, solar, and BESS assets. You will perform scheduled and corrective maintenance, diagnose moderate technical issues, and document activity in the maintenance system while promoting EHS compliance and teamwork.

The role requires hands-on experience in renewable energy maintenance, strong problem-solving ability, and a willingness to travel and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or equivalent certification in renewable energy technology or electrical systems is a plus.
• Unrestricted driver’s license.
• Must live within 1 hour drive time to site.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant hands-on technical experience in renewable energy, power generation, heavy industrial maintenance, or a closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform safe and compliant operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wind, solar, and battery energy storage system (BESS) assets, including turbines and BoP equipment, in accordance with all site-specific policies, procedures, and EHS requirements
• Conduct scheduled services, major component replacements, corrective repairs, and system testing for mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Independently diagnose and resolve moderate technical issues, escalating complex problems as needed, provide technical input for maintenance planning, and support RCA for recurring issues
• Accurately document maintenance activities and equipment performance in the digital maintenance management system
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and workplace policies
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and site operational objectives to enhance system performance and reliability
• Mentor and guide Trainee and Associate Technicians, contributing to team knowledge and safety
• Collaborate with team members and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management
• Serve in an on-call capacity as assigned, maintaining continuous availability via mobile phone, responding to communications within 30 minutes, and reporting to site within 2 hours when required
