Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Wind Farm Technician II to support safe operation and maintenance of wind, solar, and BESS assets across multiple sites.

The role performs scheduled and corrective maintenance, documents activity in CMMS, mentors trainees, and participates in on-call rotations, with travel to sites as needed.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, 3+ years in renewable energy or industrial maintenance, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Associate degree or renewable energy certification is a plus
• Minimum 3 years of relevant hands-on experience in renewable energy or industrial maintenance
• Unrestricted driver’s license
• Must live within 1-hour drive time to site
• Solar or BESS maintenance experience
• Military experience in a technical field such as electrical, electronics, or mechanical systems
• Industrial electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or power systems maintenance experience
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license
• Wind Technician certification or other credentials with field experience
• Ability to read and follow technical schematics and diagrams
• Experience with JHA and LOTO procedures
• Knowledge of renewable energy systems, power electronics, and networking protocols
• Proficiency with MS Office and ability to present technically
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to safety and continuous improvement
• Autonomous work style and decision-making
• Mentorship of trainees on projects

Responsibilities

• Operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs wind, solar, and BESS assets per EHS guidelines
• Performs scheduled services and major component replacements
• Diagnoses moderate issues and supports root cause analysis
• Documents maintenance activities in CMMS
• Ensures regulatory and policy compliance
• Supports continuous improvement and site objectives
• Mentors Trainee and Associate Technicians
• Maintains clean, safe work environment
• Responds to on-call duties as assigned
