Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. seeks a Renewables Site Design Lead Engineer to guide civil design on utility-scale wind projects. You will lead a design team, set tasks and schedules, and ensure high-quality project delivery while coordinating with clients and disciplines.

The role emphasizes mentoring, budget awareness, and opportunity identification for project growth within a dynamic renewables group.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
EIT certification is required; PE preferred.
Proficient with AutoCAD and Civil 3D; strong communication skills.
Experience (5–8 years) in the A&E industry with attention to detail.
Ability to mentor staff and manage project teams effectively.

Responsibilities

Lead and perform all aspects of civil design and technical solutions for utility-scale renewable projects.
Provide leadership, management, and mentorship for the design team.
Define project tasks, schedule, and resource requirements.
Coordinate with other disciplines and conduct team meetings for project delivery.
Prepare proposals and assist with budgeting and invoicing under a PM.
Identify scope expansions and participate in business development.
Maintain ongoing client communication and update QA/QC goals.
Establish goals for deliverables and ensure QA/QC adherence.
Support permitting efforts with county and state authorities.
