Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Wind Project Developer to lead the day-to-day renewable energy project development activities in the Eastern United States. You will coordinate interconnection, land, permitting, environmental, engineering, and commercial teams to advance projects toward milestones.

Responsibilities include managing budgets, schedules, and risks; stakeholder engagement; and coordinating with execution teams to secure permits and hand off to project execution. Travel ~30% of the time.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of experience in project development or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in renewable energy, urban planning, logistics, finance, business, engineering, project or construction management, or related discipline; equivalent experience.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of renewable energy project development, utility infrastructure, interconnection processes, permitting, and contracting.
• Familiarity with renewable energy and energy storage technologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including presentations and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team.
• Willingness to travel ~30% of the time; additional travel as needed.
• Experience using CRM platforms and developing project metrics and reporting.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of project development including budgets, schedules, and risk management.
• Own project development schedules and budgets with leadership guidance.
• Identify and resolve risks across permitting, policy, commercial, technical, and schedule areas.
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts among partners and experts.
• Facilitate project meetings with stakeholders.
• Communicate risks, opportunities, and key decisions clearly.
• Deliver presentations and represent project interests externally.
• Manage contractual obligations of key agreements.
• Lead discretionary permitting activities and permit tracking.
• Coordinate environmental studies, site surveys, and due diligence reporting.
• Collaborate with engineering teams as design advances.
• Support contractor selection with construction management.
• Coordinate with execution teams to secure permits.
• Lead project handoff to execution teams upon full development.
• Support financing through diligence and documentation.
• Oversee relationships with consultants and contractors.
