Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Senior Owner's Engineer to support the development, construction, and financing of large-scale renewable energy projects in the AES Clean Energy portfolio. The role focuses on wind energy with potential for solar PV and battery storage work, coordinating with financing partners and Independent Engineers.

The position involves cross-functional collaboration, technical documentation, site visits, and due diligence reporting to meet project standards and financing

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering or equivalent technical field.
• 5+ years professional wind turbine project design, development, and construction.
• Experience with wind project construction, quality control activities and investor site visits.
• Experience with debt or tax equity financing practices, terminology, and requirements.
• Strong technical writing skills for complex topics to non-engineering audience.
• Project and time management across multiple projects and deadlines.
• Familiarity with NEC and NESC codes and related standards (IBC, NFPA 855).

Responsibilities

• Owner representation on wind, solar and energy storage projects supporting financing and engineering efforts.
• Promote safety for all projects onsite and across teams.
• Provide development support to Origination, Procurement, Development and M&A teams for new and upcoming projects.
• Coordinate and review IE reports and site visits with investors and EPCs.
• Assist with structured finance due diligence and IE selection.
• Lead engineering modeling initiatives related to the financial model (e.g. WTG inspection costs and long-term O&M costs).
• Coordinate with legal and IE on certificates and compliance.
