Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Wind Project Engineer in Louisville, CO. The role covers the full project lifecycle from development to operations, serving as the main technical contact and coordinating with internal and external SMEs.

Strong wind design and engineering analysis background is required, with travel up to 25% to project locations. The candidate should have 1–3 years of wind project experience and excellent Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 1-3 years of professional experience in wind project design, development, construction, or analysis.
• Experience with MV collection systems, substations, gen-tie, switchyards, site civil, turbine foundations, geotechnical systems.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Responsibilities

• Perform technical due diligence reviews for M&A projects and portfolios.
• Lead preliminary Balance of Plant (BOP) design, including site civil, turbine foundations, collection systems, substations, gen-tie infrastructure.
• Coordinate geotechnical investigations.
• Prepare engineering inputs required for permitting activities.
• Support equipment evaluations and technology selection.
• Develop project scope of work documents and design standards.
• Review and comment on design deliverables from consultants and contractors.
• Provide technical oversight during construction and QA/QC field inspections.
