Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking a Development Manager for US Renewables & Power to lead wind project development across the Western United States. The role emphasizes cross‑functional collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders, including regulators and utilities.

Collaboration with AES Clean Energy’s project development group is required, with a preference for Louisville, CO proximity. The ideal candidate will drive complex development activities, manage timelines and budgets, and

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of project development experience in renewable energy.
• Undergraduate degree in renewable energy, urban planning, logistics, finance, business, engineering, project/construction management or equivalent.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of renewable energy project development, utilities, interconnection, permitting, contracting.
• Knowledge of renewable energy and energy storage technologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including executive presentations.
• Willingness to travel ~30% and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of complex renewable energy projects and manage portfolio/sub-market development.
• Own project schedules, budgets, and risk across timelines, permitting, policy, and technical constraints.
• Lead meetings with internal and external stakeholders and influence decision‑makers.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including growth strategy, land, permitting, legal, finance, engineering, and construction.
• Hand off fully developed and permitted projects to execution teams.
