Job summary

GE Vernova Wind is seeking a Grid Integration Engineer to lead grid studies and configure turbine and wind farm controls to meet site requirements across North America.

You will work with customers, ISOs/TSOs, and cross-functional teams to evaluate grid code compliance, develop plant-level control settings, and translate requirements into product capabilities while supporting proposals and orders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or power systems.
• Experience with grid code requirements.
• Knowledge of wind turbine electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Configure grid electrical simulation models of turbines and wind farms for integration studies.
• Simulate converter, turbine and plant level controls/interactions for grid requirements.
• Assess scope and risk with the commercial team for grid code compliance.
• Support customers and Sales in answering questions and resolving grid code concerns.
• Support grid acceptance tests with grid authorities, TSOs and ISOs and develop plant-level control settings.
• Develop depth in wind turbine capabilities and interaction with Balance of Plant.
• Translate grid connection requirements into product capability specifications.
• Collaborate with NPI and Services electrical design to assess non-compliance risks.
• Lead efforts to support grid code compliance for existing sites (IEEE2800, NERC).
