Job summary

GE Vernova Gas Power Controls seeks an experienced engineer to design software libraries and ensure integration across PLCs, HMI, and automation tools. You will work on grid-code-driven frequency response for gas turbines, collaborating with global teams to deliver robust control solutions.

Applicants should have 5+ years in control systems within gas/steam turbines, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and strong grid-code knowledge.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in control systems within gas or steam turbine industry or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field.
Solid understanding of Grid Code fundamentals: droop control, frequency response, RoCoF, governor modeling.
Field experience in commissioning or maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design and develop software libraries that enable turbines to meet Grid Codes and ensure high-performance frequency response.
Ensure the technical integration of developments within the global control system, including PLCs, HMI, electrical cabinets, and automation tools.
Simulate and validate solutions using advanced simulation platforms and multi-physics modeling tools prior to site commissioning.
Provide technical support to project, execution, and customer support teams, especially in complex issue resolution.
Collaborate with engineering teams to define technical specifications, lead design reviews, and deliver solutions that meet customer expectations.
Contribute to continuous improvement by applying Lean principles and optimizing tools, methods, and processes.
